2.难点词汇

public domain（书等的）不受版权/专利权限制
Shakespeare’s plays are in the public domain. 莎士比亚的戏剧无版权保护。
engineer策划、安排
She engineered the whole job from start to finish.
这事从头至尾都是她精心安排的。

slacken 减缓、减弱
slacken speed 放慢速度
slacken interest 降低兴趣

The depression slackened off and prosperity was returning.
萧条渐趋缓和，繁荣正在复归。

二、口译技巧

1.拆分

版权保护什么时候才开始生效呢？什么时候才过期呢？
When does Copyright Protection begin and when does it expire?

2.合并

《伯尔尼公约》确定了一个最短的保护期限，即作者有生之年和身后50年。
The Berne Convention establishes a minimum period that lasts the life of the author and fifty years after his (or her) death.

3.动词转化为名词

处于其他任何目的的使用享有版权的作品或其部分均不可视为“合理使用”，所以务必小心！
Use of copyrighted works, or portions thereof, for any other purpose is not deemed fair use, so be careful!

这是版权法规定的
This is a requirement under copyright legislation.
