据了解，未来浦东建设核心功能区的具体措施是，打造上海现代服务业五大中心，并做到“五个聚焦”。“十六大”对浦东“在制度创新和扩大开放等方面走在前列” 的明确要求和上海全面建设现代化国际大都市的方向，为浦东未来发展带来了前所未有的机遇，同时也决定了浦东必须走多功能、综合性发展的道路。为此，浦东新区提出，充分发挥浦东和上海的综合优势，努力建成面向国际的区域性金融服务中心、现代物流中心、跨国营运管理中心、旅游会展中心和内外贸易中心。
