Lesson 8 Key Conversation He Taught Me All I Know
Dad: What a great picture! Do you remember this one, a few summers ago? That's Grandpa, and we're working on that old clunker of his.
You know, my dad is the person who has most influenced my life, hands down. I'll never forget the lessons I learned from him that shaped the man I became.
Son: Can you tell me more about Grandpa? I wish I'd gotten to know him better before…you know.
Dad: Grandpa was great. People always say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He taught me all I know about being a mechanic and gave me the confidence to follow my dreams to open up our shop.
He encouraged me to be the best I could be and to be brave and honest. I guess he was my role model growing up.
Son: I want to be just like you when I grow up, Dad. I miss Grandpa.
Dad: Just remember that I want you to be your own person and follow your own dreams. And I'm glad you had the opportunity to get to know Grandpa before we lost him.
