There will be a ghost at the coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey on Saturday.
We're talking about the spirit of Diana, Princess of Wales, whose flower-covered casket sat in this same church during her funeral service nearly 26 years ago.
In a parallel universe, this could have been Diana’s coronation day too. In this timeline, Queen Diana would be a relatively youthful 62-year-old crowned alongside Charles.
The story, of course, didn’t go that way. They divorced and Diana died tragically, preserved forever in public memory as a luminous, beloved 36-year-old who seemed on the cusp of finally finding the happiness that had eluded her throughout her disastrous marriage.
