7月3日11:30分，深陷舆论风波的蔡徐坤在微博上发文道歉，就是同一时间，汪峰在个人微博上发布巡演的新阵容和曲目，称“上海演唱会亮相大锤”，配图为一把大锤子。网友不禁调侃：“精确到分钟了，你永远可以相信汪峰定律”“石锤？是在暗示什么吗”。据悉，汪峰定律是指汪峰发专辑或者开演唱会时内娱必有大瓜出现的不变定律。不少网友直呼汪峰为娱乐风向标，娱乐圈妥妥的预言家。借今天的新闻，我们来学学“实锤”“风向标”“预言家”的英文说法。

1. 实锤 smoking gun

目前蔡徐坤事情还不能称为实锤，但是既然汪峰老师发图了，我们可以学学这个词的英文说法。“实锤”其实指的就是“确凿的证据”，英文可以说smoking gun，这个词来源于《福尔摩斯》，故事中，夏洛克发现了一把“还在冒烟的枪”，证明了犯人是用它完成了犯罪，所以smoking gun就引申为“确凿的证据”。

此外，conclusive evidence，definitive proof，irrefutable evidence，hard proof等都可以表示“确凿的证据”。

描述“实锤”，我们还可以用concrete（具体的），substantiated（具体化的，被证实的），而与之相对的就称为circumstantial（间接指认犯罪但不能确证的）。所以，目前蔡徐坤事情还是circumstantial的状态。

The surveillance footage was the smoking gun that exposed the politician's corruption.

监控录像是揭露这位政客腐败的实锤。

The fingerprints found at the crime scene provided conclusive evidence of the suspect's guilt.

2. 风向标 indicator

Indicator是“指示器”的意思，某样事物可以指示另一样事物，也就是它的“风向标”。Barometer（气压计，晴雨表）同样可以表示这个意思。

The stock market can serve as an indicator of the overall health of the economy.

股市可以作为经济总体健康状况的风向标。

Social media trends can be a reliable indicator of what's cool and popular among young people.

社交媒体潮流是年轻人追捧和流行什么的可靠指标。

Public opinion polls are often used as a barometer of public sentiment.

民意调查常被用作公众情绪的风向标。

Your skin can be a barometer of your stress level.

3. 预言家 prophet

Prophet指的是那种“先知般的预言家”， 跟它类似的词是seer和oracle，指的都是“通神的预言家”。Fortune teller指的是“占卜师”，比如说用星相、塔罗牌等进行占卜的人，soothsayer也可以表示这个意思。最为常规的说法是predictor，注意这个词即可以指“预言家”，也可以指“预示物”。

According to the local seer, a major storm is heading our way next week.

根据当地先知的预测，下周将有一场大风暴来袭。

My friend's aunt is a soothsayer who reads tea leaves to make predictions.

The fortune teller claimed to have the ability to predict people's destinies.

占卜师声称自己能够预测人们的命运。

4. 心有灵犀 telepathic connections

网友称，汪峰和蔡徐坤是心有灵犀，“心有灵犀”英文常常说两个人have telepathic connections，telepathic指的是“心灵感应的”。也可以省略为have a connection，或者说be connected。另外一种表述为on the same wavelength，wavelength是“波长”，波长相同指的就是两个人很同频，步调一致，与minds are in sync类似，in sync是“协调，一致”，out of sync是“不协调，不一致”。

They had a telepathic connection and often knew what the other was thinking.

他们之间有一种心灵感应，经常能够知道彼此在想什么。

They had a deep understanding of each other, often knowing what the other wanted or needed without saying a word.
