make tons of money/ make big money: 赚大钱。
in order to: 为了,表达因果关系。

02.Life in first-tier city
live well的标准:
Everyone has different definitions. People value different things.
enjoy a high quality of life.
live in luxury/in the lap of luxury:
rent with others: 合租。
So some value housing, some value social life, some value things (e.g. brand names).
less materialistic, more about overall well-being, experiences are more important.
03.Costs in a first-tier city
Jenny问Adam 'When you lived in GZ, SH, how much did you think you needed to make in order to live well?'
cost of living: 住房花销。
quality of life: 生活质量。
两者cancel each other out (互相抵消)。
Smaller cities are much more affordable; first-tier cities are unaffordable.
the draw of big cities:
professional and personal opportunities:
expand your horizons: 打开视野。
What do you think? What kind of costs do you have that maybe other people don't have?
