TEXT:It's not known how many homes have fallen victim to the Waldo wildfire sweeping its way through Colorado Springs. The inferno claimed its first homes on Tuesday as it breached containment lines. Thirty-two thousand people have been evacuated. Fire chief Rich Brown. CHIEF RICH BROWN, COLORADO SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT, SAYING: "This is fire storm of epic proportions. We're being watched across the country on how we handle it." Colorado's Governor flew in for a first-hand look at the situation. SOUNDBITE: COLORADO GOVERNOR JOHN HICKENLOOPER SAYING: "It's dry, it's hot, and then you get those winds. We have the greatest fire-fighters on Earth fighting this fire and there's nothing that they can do when you get this kind of weather." The Waldo fire is one of 29 wildfires being fought across the United States. TEXT:During a three-day, multi-state sting - 79 U.S. teenagers held against their will - and forced into prostitution are rescued from hotel rooms, trucks stops and storefronts. Video released by the FBI on Tuesday - showed federal, state and local law enforcement officials involved in operations - in 57 cities - including Atlanta, Sacramento and Toledo. One-hundred-four suspected pimps were arrested - from Thursday to Saturday - part of a nationwide initiative to combat child-sex trafficking launched in 2003 - known as Operation Cross Country. FBI Acting Executive Assistant Director Kevin Perkins. FBI ACTING EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR KEVIN PERKINS, SAYING: "These are high-impact, hard-hitting cases and we're going at the purveyors of this. We're going at the organizers - the head of the organization." The rescued 77 girls and two boys - ranged in age from 13 to 17 years old. TEXT:Turkey will treat any Syrian military units which approach its border as a threat and a military target, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan tells parliament. The move comes after Syria shot down a Turkish plane last week. Ankara called the incident an act of aggression. Syrian opposition in exile and Syrian refugees in Turkey welcomed Ankara's toughened rules of engagement. SYRIAN NATIONAL COUNCIL SPOKESMAN SAMIR NASHAR SAYING: "Turkey is behaving in a sensible and patient way. This is the right thing to do and we appreciate its new move against Syria." Following a meeting in Brussels, NATO member states condemned the incident as "unacceptable" and demanded that Syria ''take all steps'' to prevent the situation from escalating. Hollande says both France and Germany want to deepen ties. (French) FRENCH PRESIDENT FRANCOIS HOLLANDE SAYING: "We are conscious of the measures that we have to take for financial stability and we want, both of us, to deepen economic and monetary -- and soon political -- union to arrive at a point of integration and solidarity." Merkel says the economic situation in Europe is serious. (German) GERMAN CHANCELLOR ANGELA MERKEL SAYING: "The situation is serious and we have the obligation of building a strong and stable Europe for tomorrow. Significant progress has been made as far as the pact for growth is concerned. I hope that we shall be able to adopt it tomorrow. We will then have to consider the political future of European economic and monetary union. I have said, we need more Europe. We need a Europe that functions -- markets are expecting that -- and we need a Europe whose members help each other out. Thank you very much." Merkel finds herself in a dwindling minority in her approach to the EU crisis, backed only by the Netherlands and Finland, but she holds the euro zone's purse strings and therefore nearly all the cards.
