《穹顶之下》是斯蒂芬·金的最新长篇作品，这部小说由336114个单词组成，长达1000页，故事讲述缅因州一个小镇突然被一股无形的力量像苍穹一样笼罩，里面的居民也陷入了媒体的炒作中。人们不知道这个穹顶是谁，何时和怎么来的，不过很快内部善恶人士之间就开始爆发冲突，而且随着空气传播，小镇的壁橱中甚至有骨架出现。
