Temperatures across China have risen to an alarming high, in the first round of heat waves this summer.
Hebei Province in north China has reached the highest temperature of the year. In the middle and south parts of the province, a temperature of 40 degree Celsius is predicted. In central China’s Henan Province, a second-level warning against heat waves has been issued. Temperatures in cities like Xuchang and Zhoukou have hit 37 degrees Celsius.
In east China’s Shanghai Municipality, weather authorities have predicted a high temperature of nearly 39 degrees Celsius. The department advises residents there to stay indoors, as hospitals receive more patients due to the heat wave. Still in east China, Anhui Province has also experienced high temperatures. In Bozhou city, temperatures hit this year’s record of 38.6 degree Celsius Tuesday. Weather departments predict the hot weather will continue for the next few days.
