Mubarak back in court for 3-day hearing
穆巴拉克出庭接受三天聆讯
Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak is due back in court today, to face corruption charges, and charges relating to the killing of protesters in 2011.
The hearing will last three days, with the judge saying it involves issues of "national security". In June last year, 85-year-old Mubarak was convicted for the killings of protesters, and sentenced to life in jail. But he appealed the sentence, and a retrial was ordered in January.
The new trial started four months later, but has been adjourned several times. Mubarak’s lawyers are seeking to blame Islamists from the Muslim Brotherhood and foreign forces for the deaths of over 800 people in 2011.
