make up something to sb.：（尤指）因自己的过失向…弥补，补偿

Expl. If you say that you will make it up to someone, you are promising that you will do something good for them after they have been upset or disappointed, especially by you.

e.g. I must make it up to him for the awful intrusion of last night.

因为昨晚过分的打扰，我必须对他有所补偿。

e.g. How can we make it up to them for what they have suffered?

我们如何能补偿他们所遭受的损害?

e.g. I am really sorry. What can I do to make it up to you?
