President Xi reaffirms China’s cooperation with EU
习近平主席强调与欧盟合作
China aims to deepen its strategic cooperation with the European Union through at least 2020. That was the consensus reached during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Brussels. Xi has been meeting with top EU officials to discuss the two sides’ close business relations and crucial diplomatic ties.
Monday was a packed day for Xi that included meetings with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy, and Martin Schulz, President of the European parliament.
Xi said during the meetings that China supports European integration and hopes that the trust and support will be mutual. Another major takeaway from the meetings was that China and the EU agreed to advance their strategic cooperation through 2020 with the goal of improving economic ties.
