1.8 million Toyota vehicles recalled in US for safety defects
美国180万辆丰田汽车被召回
Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation is recalling nearly 1.8 million vehicles in the US for various safety problems, including air bags that may fail to deploy. The Japanese automaker announced the decision on Wednesday. It’s part of a broader global recall of more than 6 million vehicles.
Most of the vehicles being recalled in the US will have faulty electrical connections replaced to prevent air bags from de-activating. Other defects include faulty seat rails that could prevent the seats from locking in place. Dealers will replace the defective parts free of charge when replacement parts are available.
The automaker says the defects have not caused any injuries or crashes.
