Refugees evacuated from cholera-hit camp in Tanzania
坦桑尼亚难民营爆发霍乱
The UN refugee agency has evacuated hundreds of Burundian refugees from a makeshift camp at a fishing village in Tanzania. This comes after an outbreak of cholera in the small town of Kagunga, which has killed over 30 people so far.
On Saturday, around 600 people were moved from the banks of Kagunga beach to a larger camp further inland which has better facilities. A UN official says up to 2-thousand refugees are being moved from the town every day. So far, up to 200,000 people have fled political unrest in Burundi. Many of them have sought refuge in unsanitary refugee camps in Tanzania.
