A group of more than 10 armed attackers launched an assault outside the district office in Sungai Kolok, a town on the Malaysia-Thailand border, at around 7 pm local time on Sunday.
当地时间周日晚上7点左右，一群10多名武装袭击者在马来西亚-泰国边境城镇Sungai Kolok的区政府外发动了袭击。
The assailants fired indiscriminately, threw explosives, and detonated bombs in a coordinated attack that killed two defence volunteers and injured 12 others, including four civilians.
袭击者不分青红皂白地开火，投掷炸药，引爆炸弹，造成两名国防志愿者死亡，12人受伤，其中包括4名平民。
A security officer said the district office building and the auditorium building nearby were severely damaged by bombs. The resulting fires also damaged several cars and motorcycles parked in the compound, he added.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra sent her condolences to the injured and families of those killed. She promised them swift and fair financial compensation.

Later that night, at around 11 pm, a separate attack in Saiburi district, Pattani province, killed three people, including two local village assistants and a ranger guarding the area. A roadside bomb detonated while they were on patrol, leaving one other person wounded, local police reported.
