130.Looking for a Seat
130.找座位
"Howdy! Is this seat taken?" William asked.
"你好，这个座位有人吗？"威廉问。
"Nope. Have a seat!" the girl said. It never fails, she thought, men always want to sit next to a girl sitting alone!
"没有，坐吧！"女孩说。从来都是这样，她想，男人总是想坐在单独坐着的女孩旁边！
"Thanks. lt's been ages since Fve ridden on a Greyhound bus,
"谢谢。我好久没坐‘灰狗'汽车了，
but our jazz band needs to get to the next town to audition for a great job offer and this is the cheapest way!" he said.

"Mmmm," she replied, then said nothing.

"Is there anything wrong with me sitting here? Really! If you want to be isolated from people I can move!"

"Nah. It's all the same to me. If it weren't you it would be only a matter of time before some other guy would ask to sit here.

You can stay! Just don't try to jibe with me or ask me out, okay?" she said as she shifted away from William.

"Whoa! I'm married with three kids! It's no use being afraid of me asking you out--I'm crazy about my wife.
"嘘！我已经结婚啦，孩子都有三个啦！怕我约你出去没有用——我对我老婆可满意了。
I was just being polite, you know, making conversation!"
要知道，刚才和你说话我只想表示礼貌！"
"Oh, I，m sorry," the girl said, as she relaxed, showed her pretty smile and moved back to sit normal in the chair.
"噢，对不起"姑娘放松地说，露出甜美的微笑并回到她的座位上。
"It's about time someone was just polite to me. Men seem to think a single girl is open!
"差不多是有人只对我表示礼貌的时候了。男人们好像认为单身女孩都很开放！
It's high time I am polite myself. So do you know this area at all? It's rich in Native American history!"
我自己也应该对别人有点儿礼貌。那你了解这个地方吗？它在印第安人历史中可有名啦！"
"Nope. I'm from the city! All these Indian names just make my headache! It's all Greek to me."

"So you must love the city!" the girl asked leaning towards William.

"You bet I do! Say, how about I rent a room for us at the next bus stop?" Jerk!
