The next morning George set out for the palace.
第二天，乔治向王宫出发了。
When he entered the great hall, he walked straight to the throne on which the queen sat, and knelt down before her.
他走进了高墙，径直走到女王坐着的宝座下，跪在了地的面前。
"I wish to do a brave deed, gentle lady," he said. "Please give me the first chance that comes."
慈悲的女王陛下，我希望自己能够做一件英勇的事情，他说，请赐给我第一个机会吧。
You look very young, said the queen, "but I feel sure that you are strong and brave. Wait here; your chance may come soon."

George had not been waiting long, when a beautiful princess named Una entered the hall.
乔治并没有等多久，一个名叫尤娜的美丽的公主走进了大厅。
"O gentle queen," she cried, "send one of your bravest knights with me to fight a dragon that has shut up my father and mother in a castle."
她哭诉道：啊，慈悲的女王陛下，请派一个您的勇敢的骑士跟我同去消灭一条龙吧，那条龙把我的父母关在了一个城堡里。
I will kill this wicked dragon for you! cried George, coming forward.
乔治走上前去，说：我会去为你杀了那只恶龙！
I do not like to send you to fight a dragon, said the good queen. "You are very young, and you have no horse or armor."
我不想派你去跟恶龙战斗。善良的女王说，你太年轻，没有战马，也没有铠甲。
I have brought armor, a sword, a spear, and a horse, said the princess.
公主说：我带来了一套铠甲、一把利剑、一支长矛和一匹战马。
Then a servant brought in the armor, and it fitted George as if it had been made for him.
于是，一个仆人将铠甲拿上来，乔治穿上很合身，就好像是专门为他做的一样。
Now I shall make you one of my knights, said the queen.
现在，你是我的一名骑士了，女王说，
"Be brave and true. Remember that a good knight must think of others before himself."
骑士要勇敢而真诚。记住，一个优秀的骑士总要先考虑别人，再考虑自己。
George felt so happy that he thought he could fight many dragons.
乔治感到很高兴，他觉得他能打败许多恶龙。
Thanking the good queen, he set out with Una and her servant.
他谢过了女王之后便同尤娜和她的仆人起出发了。
