The Adult Swim comedy "Rick and Morty" has a lot of devoted fans. So, when in the April season premiere of the animated show, the main character Rick Sanchez obsesses about McDonald's Szechuan sauce: "I'll go out and i'll find some of that Mulan Szechuan teriyaki dipping sauce Morty, cause that's what it's all about Morty." Fans took notice.
Problem is, that sauce hasn't been available since 1998 when the Disney movie 'Mulan' was released.
But "Rick and Morty" viewers proved to be persistent.
And now the fast food giant is releasing the dipping sauce today for one day only on a first-come, first-serve basis, and only at participating locations. It's a way not only to cater to the fans, but to also promote their new buttermilk crispy tenders.
