Learning to be a wizard
“小雀斑”终于圆了“巫师梦”
Welcome back to JK Rowling's wizarding world. This time, however, the main character is not Harry Potter.

Starring Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, the second installment in the Fantastic Beasts series, The Crimes of Grindelwald, hit Chinese cinemas on Nov 16.
由奥斯卡影帝埃迪·雷德梅恩主演的“神奇动物”系列电影第二部《神奇动物：格林德沃之罪》已于11月16日登陆中国影院。
It tells the story about an adventure of magizoologist called Newt Scamander against a great villain in a more divided and dangerous magical world. The 36-year-old actor had to learn how to use a wand and mutter spells for his new role in the film. Learning to be a wizard was hard work.
电影讲述了魔法动物学家纽特·斯卡曼德在一个更加分裂、危险的魔法世界中，对抗超强反派的冒险故事。为出演影片中的新角色，这位36岁的演员需要学习如何使用魔杖和念咒语。学着成为一名巫师并非易事。
"I've always loved the wizarding world and I feel thrilled to be invited into it," he told the London Evening Standard. In fact, as early as 2014, on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show, Redmayne expressed his love for the Harry Potter series and wondered why he wasn't given the role of Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's best friend.
“我一直都很喜欢魔法世界，受邀出演让我感到十分激动，”他在接受《伦敦标准晚报》采访时表示。事实上，早在2014年，雷德梅恩便在节目《柯南深夜秀》中表达了自己对“哈利·波特”系列的喜爱，并且想知道自己当时为什么没能拿下哈利·波特最好的朋友罗恩·韦斯莱这个角色。
Now he has finally achieved his teenage dream of playing a wizard.

Growing up in London in a family that had "no acting blood", as he himself put it, Redmayne first developed his love of acting as a child. His parents supported his hobby and allowed him to take drama lessons. He made his stage debut at the age of 12.
雷德梅恩成长于一个伦敦家庭，自称家中“没有演艺细胞”，但他从小便对表演产生了兴趣。父母支持他的爱好，送他去上戏剧课。12岁时，他初次登台表演。
At the elite Eton school, where he was Prince William's classmate, Redmayne continued to act in school plays. But he also developed a passion for playing sports. Redmayne played rugby for the school alongside the prince.
雷德梅恩在精英名校伊顿公学就读期间和威廉王子成了同学，并继续参演校内排练的戏剧。而他也对体育运动产生了强烈的兴趣，和威廉王子同为学校橄榄球队队员。
Redmayne told Glamour magazine that being a member of the royal family "made William quite an easy target on the pitch". "I always felt slightly sorry for Will because everyone wanted to tackle the future King of England," he said.
雷德梅恩在接受《魅力》杂志采访时透露，王室成员的身份“让威廉很容易就成为球场上的目标”。“我一直都有点同情威廉，因为人人都想在比赛中拦截未来的英国国王，”他说道。
Redmayne went on to study art history at the University of Cambridge. The actor admitted that he applied to university rather than drama school because it would be good to have a degree to fall back on – and most importantly, to keep his banker father happy.

Redmayne agreed that a wealthy background helped when he followed his acting dream. "When I was going to endless unsuccessful auditions, I could live at home rent-free in London," he told Intelligent Life magazine.
雷德梅恩也认为，富裕的家庭背景有助于他追逐演艺梦想。“当我无数次试镜失败时，还能住在伦敦的家里，不用付房租，”他在接受《智慧生活》杂志采访时表示。
Yet as Tom Hooper, the Oscar-winning UK director, told the Guardian, Redmayne "has the most amazing natural acting ability". "There are plenty of people who went to Eton. There is only one actor like Eddie," he said.
然而，曾获奥斯卡奖的英国导演汤姆·霍珀在接受《卫报》采访时表示，雷德梅恩“与生俱来拥有最棒的表演天赋”。“上伊顿公学的人不少，但像埃迪这样的演员只有一个，”他说道。
