A Verse With Five-Character Lines
In blossom are all flowers emulating with one another,
But in dormancy alone you the balsam are quiet.
In spring your leaves are in bud,
And in summer your flowers are bright.
Your leaves are small and your twigs weak,
But your varieties are numerous and brilliant.
With sunrise all grasses come out,
But haughtily facing the burning sky are only you maid.
Yuanming loves the easy chrysanthemum,
And Dunyi likes the green lotus flower.
But I love only you the balsam,
With you my will is even more steadfast.
