1. 财富自由 financial freedom

财富我们用的是financial，它的意思其实就是“和钱相关的”，“财富自由”除了说financial freedom，也可以用financially free这样一个形容词形式。“实现”可以用这几个词：attain，achieve，become等。

Attaining financial freedom is an objective for most individuals.

2. 富二代 born with a silver spoon (in one's mouth)

小岛是女子以家族企业名义所购买，这位岛主可以说是一位“富二代”了。中文中我们有种说法是“含着金汤匙出生”，英文中则是“含着银汤匙出生”：born with a silver spoon (in one's mouth)，为什么是银汤匙不是金汤匙呢，因为silver spoon两个词都是s开头，可以押韵，英文中叫做头韵。

跟它相对的，“出生贫穷”可以说“含着塑料汤匙出生”：born with a plastic spoon (in one's mouth)。

“富二代”还有一个说法是trust fund baby，trust fund是“信托基金”的意思，也就说这些孩子的父母非常富裕，早就给他们买好了信托基金，一辈子衣食无忧。

He has never worked hard for anything because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

他从来不需要为任何事付出努力，因为他是含着金汤匙出生的。

Some of us were just born with plastic spoons in our mouths.

我们当中有些人出生比较贫穷。

She's a trust fund baby. Her parents probably paid for the car and the insurance.

她是个富二代，她父母大概帮她买好了车和保险。

3. 生意人 businessman/businesswoman

这个词除了表示“企业家，生意人”，还有“很善于做生意”的意思，也可以说man of business。生意人我们可以用很多词来形容，如：shrewd（精明的），dodgy（狡猾的），hard-nosed（精明务实的）等。

She's a shrewd businesswoman.

她是一个精明的商人。

They got involved with a dodgy businessman and lost all their savings.

他们和一个狡猾的商人扯上了关系，失去了所有的积蓄。

If nothing else, Doug is a hard-nosed businessman.

别的不说，道格起码是个精明务实的商人。

4. 不甘示弱 not to be outdone

outdo是“超过，胜过”的意思，not to be outdone指的就是“不想被超过”。我们还可以说outdo yourself，“超过自己”，也就是“尽自己最大努力”。

Pat was wearing an outrageous purple dress, so, not to be outdone, I put on my new gold suit.

帕特穿了一条古怪的紫色裙子，我也不甘示弱，穿上了我的金色新西装。

John offered me a drink and, not to be outdone, Jake found me a chair.

约翰给了我一杯饮料，贾克也不甘示弱，给我找了把椅子。

She's a great cook, but she really outdid herself this time. The meal was wonderful.

她是一个很好的厨师，但这次她真的超越自我了。这顿饭太棒了。
