Good evening, said Ronan. Students, are you? And do you learn much, up at the school?
“晚上好，”罗南说，“你们是学生？在学校里学到的东西多吗？”
Erm — A bit, said Hermione timidly. A bit.
“嗯——学到一点儿。”赫敏腼腆地说。
Well, that's something. Ronan sighed. He flung back his head and stared at the sky. Mars is bright tonight.
“学到一点儿，好，那就很不错了。”罗南叹了口气，他仰起头，凝视着天空，“今晚的火星很明亮。”
Yeah, said Hagrid, glancing up, too.
“是啊，”海格说着，也抬头看了一眼天空，
Listen, I'm glad we've run inter yeh, Ronan, 'cause there's a unicorn bin hurt — you seen anythin'?
“听我说，罗南，我很高兴我们碰见了你，因为有一只独角兽受伤了——你看见了什么没有？”
Ronan didn't answer immediately. He stared unblinkingly upward, then sighed again.
罗南没有马上回答。他眼睛一眨不眨地向上凝望着，接着又叹了口气，
Always the innocent are the first victims, he said. So it has been for ages past, so it is now.
“总是无辜者首先受害。”他说，“几百年以来是这样，现在还是这样。”
Yeah, said Hagrid, but have yeh seen anythin', Ronan? Anythin' unusual?
“是啊，”海格说，“可是你有没有看见什么，罗南？有没有看见什么异常的东西？”
Mars is bright tonight, Ronan repeated, while Hagrid watched him impatiently. Unusually bright.
“今晚的火星很明亮。”罗南又重复了一句，海格不耐烦地看着他。“异常明亮。”罗南说。
Yeah, but I was meanin' anythin' unusual a bit nearer home, said Hagrid. So yeh haven't noticed anythin' strange?
“不错，可我的意思是，在靠近咱们家的地方，有没有什么反常的情况。”海格说，“你没有注意到一些奇怪的动静吗？”
Yet again, Ronan took a while to answer. At last, he said, The forest hides many secrets.
罗南还是迟迟没有回答。最后，他说：“森林里藏着许多秘密。”
