Unit 14 Revision-Shellfish Soup
Clever Jack was hungry but he did not have any money.
There was only an empty,old shell in his cupboard.'I can't eat this,'he thought.
He knocked on his neighbour's door.
She had more money than Clever Jack.
She was also very mean 'How are you today?' he asked her.
'I'm fine thank you,'she said.
'What do you want?' 'Come and have dinner with me,'Clever Jack said.
'I'm going to cook a very tasty shellfish soup.'
The rich old woman liked shellfish.'Thank you,'she said.
'I'm going to put this shellfish into a saucepan of water,
'he said.'Then I'm going to put in some onions and cream.'
He looked in his cupboard.'Oh,'he said.
'I haven't got any onions or cream.' 'I've got some,'the rich old woman said.
The rich old woman brought four onions and two jars of cream.
Clever Jack made two bowls of tasty soup. The rich old woman said,
'It's very good soup,but I can't taste the shellfish.'
'No,'Clever Jack said. 'I'm sorry.I put in too many onions.'
Moral:The clever one gets a free lunch.
