Typhoon Trami weakens as it moves west
台风潭美向西移动 威力逐渐减弱
Authorities have cancelled an alert for Typhoon Trami that made landfall in eastern parts of the country Thursday. The downpours brought by Trami have eased the lingering drought in some parts of southern China. And the storm system is continuing to wind down as it moves westward.
But authorities are still warning residents of potential dangers by issuing an alert for heavy rain in central and south China. Some regions are expected to see up to 300 milimeters of rainfall in the coming days. Authorities have urged residents there to take precautions.
