Colombia farmers fight with police
哥伦比亚农民大罢工 抗议贸易协定
Colombia's strikes by agricultural workers are becoming increasingly violent. In some areas police fired tear gas at protesters who blocked roads and bombarded them with rocks and molotov cocktails. There were similar scenes around the country during this second wave of strikes over government policies the workers say stop them selling their produce. These citrus producers spread fruit over a road to show how bitter they're feeling.

(SOUNDBITE)(Spanish) ALBERTO LONDONO, FARMER, SAYING: "This fruit has no market. All the markets throughout the country are overstocked with contraband fruit and fruit that is not contraband. All the markets are flooded with fruit." The fruit growers aren't alone. Potato, corn and milk producers also complain that free trade agreements with Europe and the U.S make it difficult to compete with cheap imports.

Trial date set for Gaddafi son

Libya's prosecutor-general says the trial of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of Libya's ousted dictator, will start next month. He's accused of crimes during his father's 42-year rule and during the country's civil war in 2011. But his fate is the subject of a complex feud. The fighters who captured him and are still holding him in Zintan want him tried on their home turf. Libya's government wants to try him in Tripoli. The International Criminal Court wants to try him for war crimes in the Hague. Libya's ICC representative said he'd argue Tripoli's case.
利比亚总检察长表示，下月将开始审判被推翻的独裁者卡扎菲的儿子赛义夫(Saif al-Islam Gaddafi)。他被指控在父亲42年统治期间和2011年内战期间罪行累累。但是他的命运是复杂的长期争斗的产物。抓捕并在Zintan市拘禁赛义夫的战士希望在他们自己的地盘上进行审判。利比亚政府则希望在的黎波里进行审判工作。国际刑事法庭希望在海牙审判其战争罪。利比亚驻国际刑事法庭代表称他将针对的黎波里的案件进行辩论。
(SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) AHMED AL-JEHANI, LIBYA'S REPRESENTATIVE AT THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT, SAYING: "These kinds of decisions give me an opportunity to show Libya as a country that supports justice and that the Libyan court can deal with these trials according to international customs."

Saif al-Islam has already appeared before a court in Zintan on other charges. The government in Tripoli wants to prosecute him alongside Libya's former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi, seen here on the left. Former prime minister Al Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi, seen here in footage shot last year, is the third defendant.

Brazil building collapse

At least six people are known to have died when this building collapsed in the Brazilian city of Sao Paolo. At least 24 more have been injured. Emergency workers fear the number of dead could rise. Maria de Fatima's son, a construction worker on the site, is among the missing.

When I see it I'll believe it. My brother-in-law was nervous and crying but I didn't believe him. I have faith in God that my son is alive. My son doesn't deserve to die now. His time has not come. It's not time."

The building was in the final stages of construction when it came crashing down on Tuesday. Local news reports say city officials have confirmed the project was considered to be in 'an irregular state' at the time.
