参考答案:
I am a translation practicer, not a pure theorist. Therefore, what I am intending to put forward here is not any abstract theory that seems to be universally true, but a summary of my years of translation experience, especially that of poetry transaltion,in the from of Dos and Don'ts,as personal theory or principle applied perhaps only to me myself.
“Accuracy”I have mentioned roughly equals to “faithfulness”advocated by Yan Fu.Master Yan once said,“Faithfulness is hard enough to attain”,while,to me,“faithfulness is everything”.Accuracy has more than one.implications.First of all,it's needless to say that it implies the exactness of meaning.Yet,poetry is different from prose in that the content and form of poetry are organically integrated. In other words, the meaning of poetry is partly conveyed through its original form at least. Therefore,we may focus on the meaning ignoring the exact words used when translating prose, but it is not the case when translating poems.
