Woman: Hey, Frank, how's it going?

Man: Well, I just found out my roommate Jim is moving out of our off-campus apartment into a bigger place with a whole bunch of friends next semester.
男：我刚发现我的舍友Jim下学期要搬出我们在校外的公寓，去和他一大堆朋友一起住进一个更大的房子。
Woman: Oh, really?
女：真的吗？
Man: Yeah.
男：真的。
Woman: Does this mean you'll be living by yourself next semester?
女：这是不是意味着你下个学期要一个人住了？
Man: Yeah, but that's OK cause I really want to live alone next semester anyway.
男：对啊，不过这没关系，反正我下个学期也很想自己一个人住。
I have to concentrate on my senior project for the history department. I have a lot to write and I don't want any distractions.
我得专心研究我大四的历史系课题。有好多东西要写，所以我不希望有任何人或事来分散我的注意力。
The only major problem, though, is how I'll be getting to campus.
不过，唯一的问题是，到时候我要怎么去学校。
Woman: Oh, yeah?

Man: See, the apartment's a little far from campus and Jim has a car and he gives me rides to and from campus everyday. But I can't afford a car now.
男：你看，我的公寓离学校有点远，Jim有车，每天都顺便捎着我上下学。但是我现在可买不起车啊。
Woman: So have you thought about taking public transportation, uh, the bus to campus?
女：那你有没有考虑过坐公共交通工具去学校呢，比如公交车？
Man: Yeah, I have. The thing is that there's no bus going directly to the campus from that part of town.
男：考虑过啊。可是问题是，从我住的那个区域没有直达的公交车可以去学校。
I'd have to change buses a couple of times on the way.
我在路上得倒好几趟车。
Woman: I see. That could take a lot of time.
女：我知道了，这样要花很长时间。
Man: Right!

Woman: Hmm, well, maybe you should move back into a dormitory on campus. Request a single room. There's lots of them.
女：也许你应该搬回学校的宿舍去住。学校宿舍里有很多单人房，你可以申请一间啊。
Man: Yeah, I thought about that. You know, I could live alone and get my work done but, I don't know, I would miss my apartment.
男：嗯，我有考虑过这么做。你知道的，这样我也可以一个人住，还能完成作业，但是......我也不知道，我会想念我的公寓的。
Woman: I know, but you've got to make some choice.
女：我理解，但是你必须得做出选择啊。
