SAFETY FIRST IN THE CITY

Stop! Look! Listen! Did you even see those words on a sign at a railroad crossing? They are good words to remember in these days of swift automobiles, street cars, and trains. You may sometime have to do a dangerous thing, but to put yourself carelessly in the way of danger is foolishness, not bravery. Our country needs strong and healthy boys and girls. Be careful!
WHAT IS TRAFFIC?
After a happy ride of three hours, George Benton reached the city for his first visit.
As he stepped off the train in the midst of the hurrying crowd, he looked about for his Uncle Robert and Cousin Arthur. Suddenly he saw them on another platform.
"Hello, Arthur!" shouted George, starting to run across the two tracks that were between him and his relatives.
"Hold on there, George!" cried his uncle.
"Don't cross those tracks. There's an engine coming. Just walk straight ahead to the gate, and we'll meet you there. We got on the wrong platform."
A few minutes later, George joined his uncle and cousin at the gate.
