"Well, George," said Uncle Robert, "we're glad to see you. Arthur will show you a good time, and will try to teach you as many interesting things about the city as you taught him about the country last summer. But first of all, you will need to learn what we all try to learn in the city, to be very careful. If you had crossed the tracks where you got off, you might have met with an accident."

'Safety First' is our motto, George, in these days of heavy street traffic."

"What's traffic?" George asked Arthur, as the boys walked through the station just ahead of Mr. Wilson.

"Why," explained Arthur, "that means the wagons and street cars and automobiles and trucks and things like that, all moving here and there among the crowds of people who are crossing from one sidewalk to the other.
