They were halfway towards the castle when Harry, glancing to his left,
他们向着城堡走到一半路的时候，哈利向左边一看，
saw something that made his heart turn over — a pair of eyes, gleaming out of the darkness.
看见了让他心头一紧的东西——一双眼睛，在黑暗中发着光。
Harry stopped dead, his heart banging against his ribs.
哈利停下来一动不动，心儿狂跳起来。
'What's the matter?' said Ron. Harry pointed. Ron pulled out his wand and muttered, 'Lumos!'
“怎么啦？”罗恩问。哈利一指。罗恩拿出魔杖咕哝道：“荧光闪烁！”
A beam of light fell across the grass, hit the bottom of a tree and illuminated its branches;
一道光线落到草地上，照到了一棵树的根部，照亮了树枝。
there, crouching amongst the budding leaves, was Crookshanks.
蜷伏在快要发芽的叶子中间的是克鲁克山。
'Get out of it!' Ron roared, and he stooped down and seized a stone lying on the grass,
“滚开！”罗恩吼道，弯腰抓起草地上的一块石头，
but before he could do anything else, Crookshanks had vanished with one swish of his long ginger tail.
但在他还没来得及有什么举动以前，克鲁克山的姜黄色长尾巴一闪就消失了。
'See?' Ron said furiously, chucking the stone down again.
“看见啦？”罗恩狂怒着说，把那块石头又放下了。
'She's still letting him wander about wherever he wants — probably washing down Scabbers with a couple of birds now ...'
“她仍旧让它到处乱逛——现在它很可能再吃两只鸟帮着把斑斑咽下去……”
Harry didn't say anything. He took a deep breath as relief seeped through him;
哈利什么也没有说，他深深吸口气，感到浑身一阵轻松：
he had been sure for a moment that those eyes had belonged to the Grim.
刚才有一会儿他满以为那是不祥的眼睛。
They set off for the castle once more.
他们又向城堡走去。
Slightly ashamed of his moment of panic, Harry didn't say anything to Ron,
哈利对刚才的惊慌稍稍有点儿不好意思，但他没有对罗恩说什么，
nor did he look left or right until they had reached the well lit Entrance Hall.
在他们走到灯火通明的城堡以前，哈利也不再左顾右盼了。
