不用上班的假日叫 holiday，而节日都叫 festival，比如中国的很多传统节日：

Spring festival: 春节

Mid-autumn festival: 中秋节

而气氛比较凝重的节日用 festival 有些不合适，比如：

Tomb Sweeping Day: 清明节

端午节被译为龙舟节，但是国外对中国文化比较熟悉的也会叫它：

Duanwu festival: 端午节

国外的船类竞技（boating activity）都挺流行的，所以在温哥华也能看到不少赛龙舟的比赛：

Race: n/v. 比赛

Row a boat: 划船

Paddle a boat: 划船

Paddle 也是名词，意思差不多的还有：

Oar: 桨（oar特指单边的长桨，通常有铁环卡在船沿；paddle即可以是单边的也可以是双边的，短桨，需手持，不通过铁环卡在船沿）

Dragon boat festival occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional Chinese calendar. 端午节在中国农历五月初五。

04.The origins of the festival

端午节是法定假期，会放一天假：

Get a day off: 有一天假

我们要铭记它悠久的历史渊源：

Origin: 起源

它有着悠久的历史渊源，是为了纪念战国时期的楚国爱国诗人屈原：

Qu Yuan was a poet who wrote a lot of poems and made a significant contribution to Chinese poetry. 屈原是一位诗人，留下了很多诗歌作品，为中国诗歌做出了巨大的贡献。

05.Rice dumpling

外国人习惯用两种方式翻译中国传统美食，根据食物的特征翻译或者直接音译，因此粽子的说法很多：

Zongzi

粽子的味道有很多种，主流的是甜口的：

Red date: 红枣

Salty: 太咸的

Pork belly: 五花肉

国外超市还有为素食主义者提供的：
