Complaints about online shopping rise
假货太多 消费者对网店投诉增加
China's e-commerce industry has been rapidly growing in recent years, and so have complaints about online shopping sites.
According to the latest report from 315online.com, a website under the General Administration of Quality Supervision, nearly 47,000 complaints were filed by consumers in 2014, almost four times the number in 2013.
Most complaints were about product quality. Government checks on 92 sets of products covering six categories from major shopping sites, including Taobao and Amazon, showed less than 60 percent were genuine.
The cell phone category’s rate of genuine products was less than 30 percent.
In terms of shopping sites, China's largest e-commerce platform, Taobao.com was found to have the lowest rate of genuine products.
