EU raises 2015 eurozone growth outlook to 1.3%
欧元区经济增长预期提高至1.3%
The European Union has raised its eurozone growth forecast for 2015 to 1.3 percent. But it's still an overcast outlook as it confirmed deflation would take hold, caused by cheap oil prices and a weaker euro.
The EU's winter forecast said sluggish investment and high unemployment rate will likely be the major restraints on economic growth. Though it does expect this year to be the first since 2007 to see growth in all of the eurozone's economies. The outlook also forecasted that Greece will see a 2.5% GDP growth this year, despite uncertainties brought by the anti-austerity party taking office last month.
The EU Commission said that political tensions, fickleness of the financial market and unthoroughness of structural reforms, will all add to the unpredictability of EU's future economic growth.
