Hello, everyone! Today, we're going to talk about the difference between zero conditional and first conditional,
大家好！今天我们讲讲零条件句和第一条件句的区别。
and it's gonna help us a lot in our exams.
这对考试很有帮助。
So what is the difference?
这两种条件句有什么区别？
Zero conditional has present simple in the if part,
零条件句的if从句是一般现在时，
and present simple in the result part or the second sentence.
表示结果的句子也是一般现在时。
And we use it when something is true 100% of the time,
我们用这种条件句描述百分百会发生的事，
when it's a general truth, a law of nature, a regulation.
比如普遍真理、自然法则、规定。
For example, if we heat up ice, it melts.
例如，如果给冰块加热，冰块就会融化。
Ice cannot escape melting. It is a rule of nature.
冰块不可能不融化，这是自然法则。
If it rains, I take the bus.
如果下雨，我就坐公交。
That's a personal rule of mine.
这是我个人的法则。
I will not leave the house unless there is a bus.
除非有公交，否则我不会离开家门。
Let's move on now to conditional number one.
接下来讲第一条件句。
We have in the if part, present simple,
这时if从句是一般现在时，
and in the second part, the result part, we have future simple.
表示结果的句子是一般将来时。
And we use it when we believe that something is going to happen but we're not sure a hundred percent.
当我们认为某事会发生，但又不是百分百确定时，就使用第一条件句。
If tomorrow the weather is nice, I will go to the beach.
如果明天天气好，我就去海边。
I believe I am going to go to the beach.
我认为我会去海边。
Am I a hundred percent sure?
但我百分百确定吗？
No. Because I don't know what the weather will be like tomorrow.
不，因为我不知道明天天气会怎样。
And another example, if we hurry, we will catch the bus.
另一个例子：如果我们快点，就能赶上公交。
I believe we will catch the bus, but am I a hundred percent sure?
我认为我们会赶上公交，但我百分百确定吗？
No, we might miss it.
不，我们可能赶不上。
So there you have it, the difference between zero conditional, first conditional.
所以这就是零条件句和第一条件句之间的区别。
