The bereaved family of MBC weathercaster Oh Yoanna, who had taken her own life in September of last year, has filed a civil lawsuit against her colleague amid allegations that Oh had suffered workplace bullying.

According to local media outlets, the legal action has been taken against the MBC weathercaster with the Seoul Central District Court last month seeking damages.

Oh's family alleges that Oh had suffered verbal abuse and harassment from co-workers for about 2 years, starting from October 2021 to just before she passed away at the age of 28.

The family explained that they recently made the issue public after discovering information from her diary and chat records that confirm the circumstances of bullying.

Before taking her own life, Oh wrote a 17-page suicide note in a phone memo app, detailing workplace harassment with the names of colleagues who she said bullied her.

Oh had reportedly experienced bullying since her appearance on the popular interview variety show "You Quiz on the Block."

However, MBC denied the allegations, stating that no formal complaints or reports were made while she was working for the media company.
