I'll never forget the day my old friend Freya called me and told me that Rima Khcheich, world famous Lebanese singer, was in town.

Freya was at the club. She was there.

And when I got to the club, the place was buzzing.

And then when Rima stepped onto the stage, a hush fell over the audience.

The atmosphere was electric.

We use it to describe things that move really quickly.

Notice how it sounds quick and speedy.

Also, here it's used as a phrasal verb.

I zipped over. Zip is the verb, and over is an intransitive preposition.

Buzzing. The place was buzzing.

This is an adjective.

Normally, it's used to describe the sound that insects make.

But here, it's being used to describe the energy and the excitement that you can hear and sense in the room.

Crackled. This is a verb.

Normally, it's used to describe something that makes lots of short, sharp little noises, like hot oil in a pan or fire.

But here it's being used to describe the energy, the excitement in the room.

Hush....This is a noun.

We often use it with the collocation 'a hush fell over...'

For example, a hush fell over the audience or a hush fell over the room.

It can also be used as a verb hush now.

You can say that when you want someone to be quiet.
