01.Characteristics and specialities of different regions.

说到regional difference，我们先聊一聊region的意义。

首先area和region的用法不同：

area：广泛的指某一地区。

region：特指某一区域（比如某一个省）。

regional characteristics and specialities：地区的特点特色。

We are where we are from. 一方水土养一方人。

Adam说到 'you can take the boy out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the boy.'

一个男人可以离开得州，但无法抹掉得州的印记。

就像DNA一样，region shaped us, formed us, and gave us our own characteristics.

提及regional difference，很多人都会想到南北差异，我们今天generally talk about the south and north of China, and share personal experience of specific cities.

02.South characteristics and specialities.

Adam觉得南方delicate、refined还有cautious。

delicate、refined：细腻、精致，形容食物。

cautious：谨慎，形容人。

Jenny来自上海，形容上海：

非常的international，Adam觉得这里用cosmopolitan更合适，形容魔都。

cosmo代表universe

poli代表place

bougie lifestyle：小资生活。

bougie

bougie 来自于法语bourgeois [?b?r??wɑ]

上海是cafe per capita人均咖啡馆最多的城市。

per capita=per person 人均

江浙也在南方非常有代表性：

paradise on earth 人间天堂，形容上有天堂下有苏杭。

business savvy = really understand business 善于经商。

（擅长的事）+ savvy： 指很懂也很会某事。

enterprising / entrepreneurial （用来形容一个人或者一个地方的人）善于经商。

Adam之前在广州学习过一段时间，他觉得人们：

modest：谦虚。

scrappy= determined 形容人通过努力获得成功。

03.North characteristics and specialities.

Adam觉得东北人：

bold = big-hearted 大胆的。

direct 直接的。

big sense of humor 很有幽默感。

东北是 heartland of comedy in China.

earthy 这里形容东北人直爽、快人快语。

down-to-earth 形容接地气。

Jenny提到在北京的时候，感觉这里人：

language savvy 很懂语言、很会说话。

best ride of your life: 最好的乘车经历，北京的的哥很爱聊天。

outspoken / master the art of talking= good at expressing themselves 很幽默、很爱说话、很会说话。
