Executive recruiters take pains to find the right executive for a company. And that's why companies use them, because they don't want to take shortcuts when it comes to the success of their business.
招聘管理人员的人努力为公司寻找合适的主管。就因为这样公司才会用这些人,因为事关公司的成功,他们不想走捷径。
One time, however, an interesting thing took place. The candidates for one company were refused time and time again. As they continued to meet with the recruiter, and he continued to take their questions as to who was left to interview, an interesting idea began to take shape. How about hiring the recruiter himself?
可是有一次发生了一件有趣的事。提供给一家公司的候选人遭到一次又一次的拒绝。他们不停地召见那位招聘人员,而他也不停地回答他们“还剩哪位面试者”这样的问题。这时一个有趣的想法开始形成了:聘请这位招聘人员如何?
When the recruiter heard this it took his breath away. He immediately took some time off for a vacation. He was interested in the position, sure, but he didn't think it was ethical that he got the job when he was so close to the hiring process. If they did want him, they would have to take steps to approach him in a different manner!
听到这个消息,这位招聘人员激动得透不过气来。他马上抽时间度了个假。毫无疑问,他对那个职位感兴趣,可他认为他对整个招聘过程太了解了,他得到这份工作是不符合职业道德的。如果他们真的要用他,他们得采取措施用一种不同的方法接近他!
His departure took the company by surprise! They had somehow taken it for granted that they could hire this man whenever they wanted! They bad taken it as read when they should have understood the ground rules better! A slight fear took root that he didn't want to work for them! When they talked to the recruiter's boss, however, they took his word for it that the recruiter was interested; he just wanted to be ethical!

Then they began to pursue the recruiter in the right way. People on the board took sides, of course, but they all took part in a real interview of the recruiter and he was more than qualified to run their company!
然后他们便开始用合适的方式让招聘者回心转意。当然董事会是支持这样做的,但他们都参加了真正的面试。让他来管理公司他真的是当之无愧!
No one took it hard when he left! They were glad that they could point to the high quality of their employees!
没有一个人因为他的离去而伤心!能证明他们的雇员素质很髙,他们感到很高兴!
And it increased their reputation!
而且这件事使他们名声大振!
