There's one word that you're gonna hear a lot. Can you spot it?
有一个词你会听到很多遍，你能发现是哪个词吗？
So you know how I told you that this month I've been doing loads of overtime and working on that project?

It's finally paid off because I got my boss to agree.

Did you spot the word that came up many times? It was get.
你注意到那个出现很多次的词了吗？就是get。
Get has many meanings. But in this context, it's used to describe achieving something that you wanted.
get有很多意思，但在这个语境中，get用来描述得到你想要的东西。
You can use this just with one person, or you can have a second person involved as well.
可以只涉及一个人，也可以涉及两个人。
So if it's just for one person, we just use the verb get and then the infinitive.
如果只涉及一个人，就是get后面接动词不定式。
So for example, I get to go to Paris for work.
比如：我可以去巴黎出差。
This means that you wanted to go. You're happy to have the opportunity.
这表示你很想去，你很高兴有这个机会。
You could use it in the future.
也可以用get表示未来的情况。
Maybe I'll get to visit the Eiffel Tower.
或许我可以去参观埃菲尔铁塔。
In the past.
也可以表示过去的情况。
Last month, I got to see my favorite band.
上个月，我得以去看了我最爱的乐队。
It can be used in lots of different situations.
get可以用在很多不同的情境中。
The second case is when it involves another person, and this is about persuading someone to do something that you want.
第二个情况是涉及两个人，这时候表示劝说某人做你想要的事。
I got my boss to agree. I persuaded my boss to do what I wanted.
我让老板同意了。也就是我说服老板去做我想做的事。
You can use it for opportunities, but you can also use it for less exciting things, like,
可以用get表示获得机会，但也可以用来表示比较普通的事，比如：
I got my sister to do the washing up for me.
我让我妹妹帮我洗碗。
