I have come over for the British Motorsport Festival
To represent what we feel is the pinnacle of driver training
And instructor training in the UK
We have an association in the UK - the Association of Racing Driver Schools (ARDS)
We are affiliated to the ASN - the governing body of UK motorsports associations
We have about 550 licensed instructors in the UK that all go through a certain training programme
to ensure that when they go out onto the circuit, sitting next to someone
be they a budding racing driver argots an enthusiastic amateur
Or representing a motor manufacturer on an experience day
That they give the best possible service in the best possible safety
What is so good about British skills of driving?
we have been driving for a long time in Britain - we are into our second century of driving
we have a big heritage of driving - we have al grown up with cars
there is a British character that likes cars
we have an affinity with the automobile
we are passionate about our cars
we like to be a little bit different
When I started (driving) I was pretty much the ‘black sheep’ of the family
my parents, my family, were all into horses - and I liked cars
as a kid growing up on a farm I had motorbikes, I built my own go-kart,
I used to drive my father mad racing around his fields cutting up the grass and scaring all the race horses
