Chinese teen steals the show after hugging Lionel Messi during pitch invasion

The fans turned out for Lionel Messi, but it was the teenager in the crowd that they all wanted to get photos with.

As Messi wowed those in attendance with his masterful touch, it all became too much for one youngster. The appeal of being so close to his idol got the better of him as he leapt over the advertising boards and stormed across the pitch.

Blazingly past security the teenager made it into the arms of Messi who was more than happy to oblige with a hug.

But the young fan wasn’t finished there.

After a quick embrace with the football megastar and a salute to the crowd, the fan took off as security closed in. He blazed a path around the pitch, even exchanging a high-five with Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
